The Technology within Mobile Principal
Mobile Principal runs on these devices: • Windows Mobile Devices, including PDA Phones
• Desktops
• Laptops
• Tablet PCs
We work closely with your technology department during the setup and installation processes. In fact, we do most of the installation ourselves requiring very little of their time.
If you are technically inclined, you might like to know the following:
Handheld Suitability: All Windows Mobile Devices will work. (It can also run disconnected on a Laptop or Tablet PC.) The mobile device isn’t only dedicated solely to our application. They can also be used for a phone, camera, Word, Excel, etc.
Centralized: An entire district can be set up on one computer. No dedicated server is required.
Secure: The database is 128-bit encrypted and password protected. Everything runs within your network so no data leaves your system.
SIS Import: Works seamlessly with your current student information system. No staff time is required to manually copy files, run processes or exports.
Synchronization: Less than 3 minutes to sync a campus of 3000 students. Can sync wirelessly when a signal is available, or in a cradle. ANY cradle that can access your network can access EVA, not just the user’s cradle. No full partnership is required to sync. We’ve built in redundancy into the sync system to ensure that the data is never lost in transit.
Customizable: We do the customization for you. We can customize the SIS import, the evaluation methodology to meet your infrastructure requirements. We build our system to work on your infrastructure.
Database: The backend server runs on a Microsoft SQL Server 2000 or higher. The software can also run on MSDE or SQL Server 2005 Express. It does not require a dedicated server. It “plays well with others”.
Server Requirements: Needs to be a Windows computer on the backend. The computer can be a 2000 Server, 2003 Server or even an XP desktop.
Memory Requirements: Very small footprint on the server as well as the handheld. The processing requirements are very low.
